What makes an idol and and what makes an icon? How do they differ? What does that difference mean? In her second solo cabaret show, Broadway World Award Winner Chrysten Peddie returns to the Metropolitan Room to explore just that. Featuring a blend of pop, rock, sacred music and musical theatre, Chrysten Peddie will take you on a personal and poignant musical journey, examining her musical roots and discovering what it means to be an idol or an icon.
Chrysten Peddie has been performing professionally in NY and on regional stages for the past 15 years. Since her cabaret debut back in 2013, she has been a regular at the Metropolitan Room. She has appeared on the Metropolitan Room stage as a part of Broadway on 22nd Street, It's Only Love, Gone too Soon: A Tribute to Whitney Houston, and most recently Gone too Soon: A Tribute to Karen Carpenter. Other cabaret venues include Stage 72, the Laurie Beechman Theatre and Joe's Pub. She debuted her first solo cabaret show, TOO DAMN TALL, last year at Metropolitan Room and received glowing reviews as well as the Broadway World Award for Best Cabaret Debut! "Displaying great comic timing and killer vocals...Peddie wins you over with her onstage charm and intelligence." - Billie Roe, Broadway World.com
